Young Investigator Award 2025
The Young Investigator Award is an initiative of the Faculty of Life Sciences to honour young postdoctoral scientists with an outstanding publication record. The award has a value of 1,500 €. Up to two awards will be granted in 2024. Award recipients will be selected according to their publication output. The award is anticipated to foster the awardee's ongoing research and professional development.
Eligibility
All postdoctoral researchers who are employed on a temporary contract at the Faculty of Life Sciences at the time of application (also via third-party funds) and who have received their Ph.D. within the last 4 years (parental leaves up to 1.5 years per child can be added) are eligible for this award. Former awardees are not eligible. At least one peer-reviewed publication should be published with the affiliation of the Faculty of Life Sciences. Postdoctoral researchers can only apply for one of the two faculty awards announced in the same year.

Gertrud Pleskot Award 2025
The Gertrud Pleskot Award is an initiative of the Faculty of Life Sciences that aims to enhance the visibility and career prospects of highly qualified female scientists who publish in the top journals within their field. The monetary value of the award is €1,500. In 2025, a maximum of two awards will be granted. The selection of recipients will be determined by their publication output. The awardees are expected to utilize the grant to support their own research and career development.
Eligibility
All female postdoctoral researchers of the Faculty of Life Sciences who are employed on a temporary contract at the time of application (also via third-party funds) and who have received their Ph.D. within the last 8 years are eligible for this award. Parental leaves of up to 1.5 years per child can be considered. Former awardees are not eligible. At least one peer-reviewed publication should be published with the affiliation of the Faculty of Life Sciences. Postdoctoral researchers can only apply for one of the two faculty awards announced in the same year.
