Global warming forces royal penguins to migrate

More than 70 percent of the world's royal penguin colonies move to more southerly areas due to global warming.

T his is the conclusion of a study by an international research team led by evolutionary biologist Emiliano Trucchi. Researchers have reconstructed population size changes over the past 50,000 years through genome analysis. The results appear in the current issue of the renowned journal Nature Climate Change.
