When the first jellyfish appeared millions of years ago, they had hardly any newly developed genes. Although they sometimes differ greatly from other animals, an international research team with the participation of Ulrich Technau from the University of Vienna found in a new study above all genes that are also found in humans. The results have been published in the journal "Nature Ecology & Evolution".
