Women* in science @ the Faculty of Life Sciences
The campaign for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which takes place on 11 February 2024, celebrates all female* scientists in STEM fields. Our aim is to showcase the diversity within the sciences by highlighting fifty-eight women* scientists and their research interests from our faculty.
Diversity in research expands the pool of talented researchers, bringing in fresh perspectives, talent and creativity. Embracing a wide range of people and backgrounds fosters an inclusive environment that enriches scientific discourse and paves the way for innovative breakthroughs.
Join us in celebrating the brilliance, resilience and dedication of women* in science and let us stand together to recognise the power of diversity in scientific pursuits and reaffirm our commitment to creating an equitable space for all!

Women in Biology (WoBio)
In order to fight the uphill battle of "glass celings" and "leaky pipelines" together, some female scientists of our faculty formed the Women in Biology (WoBio) initiative in 2015. They offer career workshops and networking events and highlight female achievements in our faculty. They are very active and welcome every new member. So if you want to join them, visit their website and look for the next meeting!
